Fighting Hunger the Rights Way

Why Fighting Hunger the Rights Way is right for your classroom!
Raisons pourquoi « Lutter contre la faim à l’aide des droits » convient à votre classe!

The Cape Breton University Children’s Rights Centre, in partnership with World Food Programme and funded by the Canadian International Development Agency, have developed a new curriculum resource Fighting Hunger the Rights Way.  This curriculum resource adopts a children’s rights framework and is designed to accompany World Food Programme’s educational computer game Food Force.

Fighting Hunger the Rights Way was designed to fit closely with common curriculum outcomes from Canadian provinces and territories such that each activity corresponds to one or more learning outcome.  It is organized under four subject categories: English, math, science, and social studies.  Each subject is divided into two grade groupings: 4-6 and 7-9.  By using this format, teachers can teach students about their rights as children while continuing to cover prescribed learning outcomes. Fighting Hunger the Rights Way is available in Engish and in French.
