IN DEVELOPMENT: NOT ALL LINKS ARE ACTIVE

About Biology

The department emphasizes practical experience in all undergraduate laboratories. Qualified students will find opportunities to obtain experience in research conducted by faculty.

Careers

Biology offers a sound foundation for careers in numerous fields, including environmental fields, natural resource management, medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, and education. Students with a four-year BSc may also choose to go on to graduate studies and thus pursue research or academic careers in any branch of biology. Graduates working in medicine, fisheries, environmental law, and other fields of biology have identified the emphasis on analytical and practical skills in the Cape Breton University programs as a key factor in their success.
